I confirm that the carpets were indeed originally shampooed but, unfortunately, the shampoo resin was left in the carpets, which dried with much of the dirt to make the carpets very tufty. In the event, we sourced Proper Clean (James Platt) from Checkatrade (http://www.checkatrade.com/ProperClean) who had all the up-to-date equipment to bring the carpets back to “as new” and WOW what a difference it has made – they look and feel as new, with a lot of wear left in them now that they can breathe. I would emphasize from our experience that house cleaners and carpet cleaning specialists very rarely come in the same package – need to be sourced separately. Carpet cleaning is a very specialist job that requires up-to-date equipment applied by experienced specialists who know how to deal with a problem without damaging the customers’ carpets. You get that with James Platt – nothing is too much trouble for him and he is not complacent at all!
